POWER PLATE® TECHNOLOGY HELPS PUT LEE WESTWOOD IN HIS POWER PHASE AS HE PREPARES TO COMPETE IN U.S. OPEN
Westwood Positioned to Win U.S. Open Title; Improved Fitness Plays Role in Recent Wins
Irvine, Calif. (June 17, 2010) – Lee Westwood is in his “Power Phase” – he is ranked number three in the world and placed in the top three in his last three majors. Expectations are high for this power player, fresh off a win at the St. Jude Classic he is competing to be the first European in 40 years to win the U.S. Open. To give himself the competitive edge, Westwood, like many pro-athletes, integrates Power Plate exercise into his training regimen to increase strength, stability and power.
“I was introduced to the Power Plate machine and was immediately impressed with the versatility and applications specific to golf conditioning including hamstring stretch, massage (for recovery/relaxation) and for developing my core stability,” says Westwood. “I have now progressed [my fitness regimen] to the Power Plate pro5Air™ to further develop stability and power in my golf swing.”
Westwood has been applauded by the golf community for increasing his lean muscle mass and reducing body fat through diligent training, including Power Plate exercise, and he has reaped the benefits from a healthier physique on the course.
